It's Ali's Birthday

Mommy here! Today is Alison's 7th birthday -- the second birthday she's celebrated abroad! She woke up to balloons and calls to Europe to talk to Nana & Pop Pop. Alison used to be really small, seven years is a long time to be growing. Don't believe me? Here she is on each of her birthdays:

Seven Years of Alison!

Happy Birthday Alison!

A great, new friend

This is me with my friend Huguette. She is 8-years-old and lives at the hotel too. She goes to school during the day, but we play every afternoon and all weekend together. She likes books too! We're sharing books with each other. Huguette is part Nicaraguan and part German and she speaks English, Spanish and a little German. She's helping me learn Spanish.

Live from Nicaragua

Guess what I've been doing all this time? If you'd like to know, I going to tell you right now.

I moved to Managua, Nicaragua three weeks ago.

We're staying at a hotel called Hotel Ticomo. It has a place that's awesome to play ball.

We've been to lots of places, but we've not seen a volcano, cave or anywhere that vampire bats may live. But I did see one fly over the hotel.

More next time.

To Brayden

Hey Bray!

It's a beautiful day in Florida. I wish you could come and visit, but too bad you're going to Thailand. I'm sure you'll have a great time there.

Love, Alison

Painting is really fun

Mexico week 7 052

I got to go to Cuautla with my mommy and daddy to help paint some school rooms. Cuautla is another town, not far from where we are staying.

I was wearing my dad's shirt for a smock and a hat so no paint would get in my hair. We painted rooms in a church with brushes and rollers, but I only got to use the roller a little bit. My mommy wouldn't let me.

On Sunday I got to go to children's church in one of the rooms we had painted. It looked good.
