Painting is really fun

Mexico week 7 052

I got to go to Cuautla with my mommy and daddy to help paint some school rooms. Cuautla is another town, not far from where we are staying.

I was wearing my dad's shirt for a smock and a hat so no paint would get in my hair. We painted rooms in a church with brushes and rollers, but I only got to use the roller a little bit. My mommy wouldn't let me.

On Sunday I got to go to children's church in one of the rooms we had painted. It looked good.

The Cave

IMG_5520

We went to a cave. It was cold and light. We always caught up with the group the moment the lights got turned off.

IMG_5529

We decided to take pictures off the sidewalk. I got to climb on some cool rocks - my Daddy helped me. I got to see stalagmites, they're on the ground, and stalactites, they're on the ceiling. They dripped water on me.

That's me and my mommy. My daddy took this picture from the mouth of the cave while we were climbing out.

Gardens.

Yesterday on the way to McDonalds, we saw another pyramid. We couldn't get a picture of it because we didn't have a camera.

I was a little sick earlier in the week, but later I felt good enough to dance!

We also went to a big garden where we saw this statue...

Taxco, Mexico

IMG_5283

We went to Taxco, a silver-mining town, about 2 hours away from our house. For lunch, I ordered pizza. When it came out it had pineapple and ham on it. Daddy told me it was a hawaiian pizza. I'd never tried that before, but I did and I liked it.

IMG_5288

We saw a really big church. The inside was covered in gold. Everything was covered in gold! It was really pretty.

We went to a lot of shops and in one, we found a present for my Nana. I picked it out, all by myself.

IMG_5298

At the square, we met a guy named Juan Carlos who drew pictures of people. He drew a picture of me and my sister Emily, it's called a caricature.

Xochicalco

IMG_5192

This is me and the pyramids of Xochicalco far away. We walked over to them and went climbing and exploring.

IMG_5201

I got to climb to the top of a couple with my Mommy & Daddy.

IMG_5246

We found an opening in the pyramid and thought we could go in, but it was closed off on the inside. We took pictures though.

IMG_5250

My favorite part of our visit was climbing the pyramids. My dad climbed up a really big one, it didn't even have steps! Xochicalco was a really cool place to visit.

They said it was for 12 years and up!

Sarai & Alison w/ the finished puzzle

Today I finished my first 1000 piece puzzle. I started it with my Mommy before she went to Nicaragua last Friday and while she was gone, Miss Jacqueline and Sarai, our nanny, helped me with it. It was really tough, but a lot of fun.

Mexico City

This is my friend Brayden in me on the way to Tezpotlan. We like to play chess together. He and his family are living at the base with us. They are going to be missionaries in Thailand.

Sometimes we're silly.

IMG_4960

This is me at the Centro Joyeria in Mexico City. It's a big jewelry store with five floors. We looked at earrings for Emily. We bought some and she cried a lot when Mommy and Daddy changed her earrings.

IMG_4956

This is me and the garden at the Soculo in downtown Mexico City. It's a big square surrounded by the President's palace, shops and the Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral. It's decorated for Independence Day.

IMG_4950

This is the cathedral. It was really pretty and really big.

The last few days my Mommy and Daddy have been in Nicaragua and Emily and I have been at the base with Miss Jacqueline. We went to the park and jumped on trampolines, I threw up in the van, we went to McDonald's, we watched some movies and got to eat pizza. Mommy got back last night and Daddy comes back on Saturday night with everyone else. I miss him.

Tezpotlan

IMG_4991

I saw a pyramid on top of a giant mountain. I paid 3 pesos - that's money in Mexico - to look through the telescope. It was different than regular pyramids and not pointy.

We could have walked but it would have taken us over an hour and Emily is too little.

Week 2

IMG_4898

This is a picture of my Little Pet Shops with me. I have 37 pets and I got to bring them all with me to Mexico.

Last week my mommy and daddy had classes to go to, so I played with my friend Brayden. He is 5 and is moving to Thailand with his mommy and daddy.

IMG_4907

Yesterday we went to the mall. We had lunch there. I had chicken nuggets from Burger King and some pizza from Dominos. I liked having American food. And then we went shopping and guess what? My mom got a pair or three of new earrings.

Hello Friends

I've been in Mexico for one week. Last week we stayed with a family who only spoke Spanish. The food was different, so I ate a lot of bread and peaches.

We went to a really old church and explored it.

IMG_4807

We saw a Mexican pyramid way up on a mountain.

We also celebrated my 6th birthday with a cake called pasteles con tres leches, or cake of three milks. It was really good!

Party

I had an early birthday party on Saturday. It was a Littlest Pet Shop party and I got a lot of LPS gifts!

I got two VIP pets who I named Lo and Runy. Lo is a turtle. Runy is a dog. (ETA by Mommy: Runy is pronounced Runny, but this is how Ali spells it.)

My daddy and mommy got me an ipod!! I love listening to it and it will be good on the plane to Mexico.

Three more days of school!

One week

I am leaving for Mexico in one week. I still want to spend time with my friends, but I'm a little excited.

Tomorrow I'm having a birthday party, but my real birthday will be while we are in Mexico. It will be September 17. It's going to be cool to have a birthday in Mexico.
